The mind record player spins. What gets heard are the riffs and vocals, like the dominant sounds of internal dialogue.

What goes deaf are the subtleties: the soft bass, synths, and touch of drum. But those ‘light’ sounds are also worth paying attention to. They round out the song.

We see, hear, and think what’s apparent on the surface, often ignoring the discreet. But it’s noticing the small things that help keep us awake.
