Shanti Celeste is an up and coming house producer from Bristol, England. Her latest 2-track EP features the jungle healer ‘Make Time,’ combining a rich collection of synths and electronic breaks. A real treat — add it to the bag.
Hysterics is London-based electronic producer Philip Gamble, also known as Girl Unit.
His latest future beat is stutterer ‘Empty VIP’ which appears on the Night Slugs Allstars Volume 3.
Just in case you missed it, here’s the 2010 gem ‘Wut’ from his Girl Unit alias.
DJ Rum is UK electronic producer Felix Manuel. His latest drop the Forgetting EP blends a melange of vibes including jazz, juke, and breakbeat rhythms. The track ‘Projection’ sounds like a Cinematic Orchestra piece.
It’s hard to nail down the best track from the genre-hopping EP; all tracks are tasty in their own right. But the shifty pace of ‘Induction’ which made it debut on the Gilles Peterson show may delight your ears as well.
Be sure to check out the crunchy bass on the 2016 B-side release of ‘Abandon Me’ as well:
Doms & Deykers is a collaboration between Dutch electronic producers (Steffi-e) Doms & (Martyn) Deykers. Their new album Evidence From A Good Source contains a slew of rolling techno gems and broken beats.
Says Martyn in an interview with Skiddle:
“The Doms & Deykers sound is a mix of new and old music we love, but more importantly is that it’s focused on melody rather than on soundscape type stuff. Good melodies make a song last a lot longer and we both love lush pads and sharp riffs! My personal favorite from the record is ‘Sweet Sanctuary’.”
Favorite tracks: Eyes Up, Grime for Dolly, To All Friends and Family, Transative, and Sweet Sanctuary
The Maghreban is a beatmaker and so-called ‘outsider’ based outside of London. He apparently came into house music on an open minded whim, after crawling through other genres like drum n bass and hip hop, and old jazz and movie soundtracks. His new single ‘Brooklyn’ is named after his dead cat.
21-year-old South African producer DJ Lag is helping pioneer a new form of house music called Gqom, which Fader describes as “a ruthless, minimalist, tensely percussive form of dance music. DJ Lag calls it, “a mix of elements of hip-hop and house.”
Nickodemus is an electronic music producer and DJ from New York. His latest single ‘The Crow’ finds him collaborating with singer and songwriter Alsarah (Alsarah and the Nubatones). The result is a heavy hitting mixture of African and Arabic sounds. Peep Saagan’s Balearic house remix after the jump.
“The Crow” moves deep into 122 BPM stacking synth house that lyrically tells a story of ones identity in the metaphor of a Crow who looses his/ her feathers & tries to replace them with others. Saagan (the new project by super house producer Andreas Saag) turned in a beautiful melodic remix that turns deep Detroit with the sounds of Crows & Arabic strings.”
Project Pablo is a Montreal-based producer and DJ, Patrick Holland. Known for his house tunes, he offers a fresh take on the genre for the latest One For Some EP.
‘In the Locale’ is one of the most diverse cuts, pinching together sharp garage and techno elements. Peep it above.
Toronto-based producer Jesse Futerman releases music on London’s house label Church. He continues his taste for deep late night jams with his most recent tune, ‘A Tribute To Horace.’
Be sure to peep the other downtempo tracks on the Church Volumes 003 12” as well like this drum and jazzy roller from Nicholas.
CO/R is a collaboration between techno heads Herron and Joy Orbison. The duo just released Gudrun, a vinyl 12″ from the Trilogy Tapes Store.
The lead single ‘Bells, Walking’ is a continuation of Joy Orbison’s 2009 post-dubstep hit ‘Hyph Mngo‘ laced in with Herron’s mastery of house and UK garage. Learn more about Joy Orbison in the Sole Selectors video below.
