All it takes is for one person to recline their seat back and the rest of the passengers follow, like dominos. The comfort of one necessitates comfort for all, a kind of, forced inconvenience.

The pursuit of self-interest taints the end-game so that everyone begins back at square one. Those that start the ruckus end it.
