How to Feel Like Your Winning

This productivity hack comes from IBM.

As Tim Ferriss describes in this podcast, IBM used to set their sales goals so low that anyone could achieve them. Then their salespeople blew the actual goals out of the water.

If you want to feel like you’re winning set lower expectations that are achievable and then increase the milestones over time.

Breaking this strategy down into more personal matters, it could be:

  • If you’re trying to work out, do one push-up
  • If you’re trying to meditate, start with 2-minutes and build to five
  • If you’re looking to run, jog for 3-minutes.
  • If you want to write a book or blog post, try to write non-stop for a few minutes

The key to practicing these activities is to do them will full concentration; otherwise, you won’t be getting the full benefit.
