Unlike a tweet or a Facebook status, each which stays relevant for less than a day, pins have enduring long tails that keep them clickworthy for months.

Repins enable content to live on. There’s always someone discovering an image for the first time.

Tumblr’s reblog feature works the same way. Content feels fresh forever whereas in Facebook and Twitter it dies.

Collectors are storytellers. And stories are timeless.
