Stealing Influence

Great artists steal. But it isn’t stealing in the traditional sense. And it’s certainly not cheating.

Creativity is the mastery of combining ideas and recasting them into a new form. Creators aren’t afraid to admit that their end product is influenced by various sources.

Creativity is the Wild West where anything goes. There are no rules in place prohibiting the connecting of dots backward to ship a product forward. Sure, there’s patents protecting proprietary technologies, but for the most part anyone can adopt a product’s guts and tweak it.

The canvas for innovation is wide, ideas infinite; keep poking at the art pallet until something interests you enough to take initiative and test it.
