But now there are websites that want to make the undiscovered known. ArtistsWanted.org is one of them. It hosts a community of artist work that ultimately gets judged by fans. Recently, an artist with the most votes won special placement on a Times Square billboard.
Commercializing art outside the galleries gives normal creatives the incentive to contribute more. Like musicians, artists don’t need labels to spread the word for them. The online fans will reward them.
