Japan introduced them. Snapchat mainstreamed them in America. And now Instagram is turning emojis into hashtags.
We’re all living in caves, communicating through emojis. Seriously, we don’t need words anymore when we’ve got this🍆 (eggplant) and this 👾 (monster). I use the latter when my 🐶👾 is misbehaving.
So where does language go from here? I guess words still help vocal communication. Plus, Google Translate works on the wrist should we ever draw blanks with a foreigner.
Other than that, it’s all an emoji daydream.
