The Patent, Used as a Sword

Unlike patents for new drug formulas, patents on software often effectively grant ownership of concepts, rather than tangible creations…..As a result, some patents are so broad that they allow patent holders to claim sweeping ownership of seemingly unrelated products built by others.

If you think of something you can patent it. Just be aware that the bigwigs like Apple and Google can run you over in lawsuits and buy your concepts since they’re creating the actual product.

Even worse is that Apple and Google patent concepts too. The whole thing is an antiquated mess, theory before practice.
