The Virtual Creative Assistant

On outsourcing creative to India:

Companies in the West often claim that while they outsource factory jobs, the creative and innovative work is still done at home.

You don’t need to be rich and democratic to create. All you need is a hi res camera and a concept.

I’ve often argued that the only irreplaceable trait America has left is creativity. No country can replicate the intricate expression displayed in American movies, film, and books. Americans are inspired to create.

But professional fees are high and creators themselves need marketing assets. So a musician outsourcing a concept like a music video for creative production in India is worth a shot.

The finished product may be unique and unWestern but the savings enable artists to focus on their craft and other important collateral.

At some point the quality of outsourced content will rise. The tools are there and creativity can be learned. And YouTube is always there to steal concepts.
