Trophies Are Misleading

As kids, we get trophies even when we lose. As we get older, we discover that only winners get trophies.

Trophies are encouraging. But when they are more of a “thanks for playing” despite failure or little effort they lose their purpose.

Losing puts a bad taste in our mouth. But losses are lessons in disguise. What can we do to get better?

Everyone wants to win. Winners get paid more in adult life. Money replaces trophies.

All achievements are temporary anyway. People that love their work and continue to improve repeat their success. Each new season is another chance to evolve. Remain trophyless.
