Guts on parade in the original iMac

Write about your first computer.

The layer of abstraction in it, on top of it, entirely conspicuous. You could see its guts and they were glorious. Its function flashed like a piece of art, yet its telos was to galvanize creativity, to buttress the bicycle of the mind.

With this tool and its software brethren, we made imperfect things with our big minds. And with the ethernet connection, we shared our work rather than hiding it in the crate.

The original iMac birthed crazy things. As that was its purpose, to inspire thinking outside the box.
